About Brennen and This Site
Our son, Brennen Neblung, is a loving, determined young man with a passion for helping others and a drive to serve his community. Growing up in the Midwest, Brennen attended Northeast High School in Goose Lake and went on to serve in the Iowa National Guard as a 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic.
Brennen is the kind of person who would drop anything to help a friend. He listens when someone needs to talk and shows up when people need support. He’s fun-loving, outgoing, and has a knack for making people laugh — often with a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor. (He’s also known to swear like a sailor — or a soldier, in his case — and somehow make it part of his charm.) He has a deep passion for motors and vehicles, and nothing made him happier than tinkering, fixing, and making them run better.
On September 28, 2025, Brennen was involved in a devastating motor vehicle crash in Clinton County, Iowa. He was critically injured and airlifted to Iowa City, where he remains in intensive care. His injuries are severe, and he has already undergone multiple surgeries with the possibility of more in the future. Brennen has been diagnosed with a severe traumatic brain injury, and his long-term recovery and prognosis remain uncertain. That day changed our lives forever.
We created this site to keep family, friends, and our community informed without the need for constant individual updates. Here, we’ll share Brennen’s medical journey — his progress, setbacks, and the challenges ahead. It’s also a space to thank the many people who have reached out with support, prayers, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.
Looking ahead, we hope to turn this tragedy into purpose. Once Brennen’s condition stabilizes, we plan to use his story — and the wrecked vehicle — to raise awareness about safe driving, especially the dangers of speed and distraction among young drivers. Our goal is to educate, honor Brennen’s fight, and help prevent other families from experiencing the same heartbreak.
Thank you for standing with us.
Your love, prayers, and support mean more than we can express.
