On September 28, 2025, our son, Brennen, survived a devastating crash that forever altered his life. He continues recovery at home, attending medical appointments, physical therapy, and counseling, and his story is a powerful reminder that the consequences of one split-second choice can last a lifetime.
Bobby’s Crash Foundation exists to educate young drivers and communities about the real-world impact of speed, distraction, and risky decisions behind the wheel.

Today, we want to recognize one of our Community Safety Partners, Midwest Collision, Fulton IL.
Support from local businesses like Midwest Collision allows Bobby’s Crash Foundation to continue our mission, reach more young drivers, and bring real-world conversations about choices, consequences, and roadway safety directly to students in our communities.
Midwest Collision owner Dan Bennett knows all too well how devastating serious crashes can be. Dan has been towing vehicles for nearly 30 years and, like so many tow operators, has seen firsthand what is left behind after a serious crash. Tow operators are often among those who see the aftermath up close and understand just how quickly one moment on the road can change the lives of individuals, families, and entire communities.
Dan and Midwest Collision have supported us from the very beginning. From kind words and encouragement during those first difficult days while Brennen was in the ICU, to now supporting Bobby’s Crash Foundation and the mission that grew from that experience, their support has meant more than we can put into words.

Today we close out our time at the Whiteside County Fair.
Over the past several days, we have had the opportunity to speak with families and individuals from all around the area about decision-making behind the wheel, the choices we make, and how one decision can impact not only an individual, but an entire family and community.
Nick and Brennen were able to be at the fair for much of the week, but when we could not be there, our friends with the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office stepped in to help keep our display available and our message moving forward. We cannot say enough about the support we continue to receive from our area law enforcement partners. Members of the Fulton Police Department and Morrison Police Department (IL) also stopped by and showed their support throughout the fair. These partnerships mean a great deal to us as we continue working toward our mission of helping prevent the choices and circumstances that can lead to unimaginable tragedy on our roadways.
One conversation this week, however, reminded us just how far the impact of a single crash can reach.
A woman named Michele stopped and spoke with Nick and later with Brennen. Michele is the mother of the second person who came across Brennen’s crash that night. We were able to talk about what her son witnessed, the actions he took, and the impact that night has had on him as well. In the coming week, we hope to meet with him personally and finally have the opportunity to thank him for what he did for Brennen that night.
It was a powerful reminder that a crash does not end with the people inside the vehicle. It affects the families, first responders, medical providers, witnesses, friends, and sometimes complete strangers who find themselves forever connected by a single moment.
That is exactly why we continue sharing this story.

Every conversation helps move this message forward to another young driver, another parent, another family, and another person who may think differently the next time they get behind the wheel.
