BOARD MEMBERS

Founder | Nicholas Neblung

Nicholas Neblung is the Founder and Executive Director of Bobby’s Crash Foundation, created after a life-altering crash involving his son. With more than twenty years in public safety, Nick has built a career centered on leadership, crisis response, and service to others—experience that now fuels the foundation’s mission.

Nick currently serves as a deputy sheriff and previously served as Chief of Police for the City of Fulton. Over the course of his career in law enforcement, the fire service, and emergency medical services, he has managed and investigated countless serious and fatal crashes. Those professional experiences, combined with his personal journey as a father, give him an unfiltered understanding of how quickly a single decision can change the trajectory of a family’s life.

Rather than allowing tragedy to define his family’s story, Nick chose to build something purposeful from it. The foundation uses the actual crash vehicle, verified data, and direct storytelling to deliver a message that is honest, emotional, and grounded in reality. It speaks not only about survival, but about the lasting physical, financial, and emotional consequences that follow poor choices behind the wheel.

Rooted deeply in the Fulton community, Nick has long believed in mentorship and proactive leadership. Through Bobby’s Crash Foundation, he works to ensure that Brennen’s story becomes a catalyst for prevention, measured not only by statistics but also by the safer decisions young drivers make every day.

President | Nathan Petersen

Nathan “Nate” Petersen serves as President of the Board, guiding the strategic growth and long-term vision of Bobby’s Crash Foundation. His career spans more than two decades in public safety, including nine years as a 911 dispatcher, service as a volunteer firefighter, and fourteen years in law enforcement.

Nate currently works as a deputy sheriff and certified traffic crash reconstruction specialist. His professional responsibilities routinely place him at the scene of serious and fatal crashes, where he documents, analyzes, and reconstructs events to determine exactly what occurred. That technical expertise provides the foundation with a fact-based understanding of how and why crashes happen.

As Board President, Nate focuses on expanding the foundation’s reach beyond the local level. He is passionate about building structured programming that can be delivered to schools and communities across the region—and eventually, nationwide. His leadership ensures the organization remains mission-driven, credible, and sustainable.

For Nate, success is simple: if education and awareness persuade even one young driver to rethink a risky choice, then the work matters.

Vice President | Dwayne Hamilton

Dwayne Hamilton serves as Vice President of Bobby’s Crash Foundation, contributing nearly twenty years of law enforcement experience and frontline leadership. He currently holds the rank of Sergeant with the Fulton Police Department, where he supervises officers and remains actively engaged in community policing efforts.

Throughout his career, Dwayne has encountered the aftermath of critical incidents and major crashes, understanding not only the investigative side but also the human toll carried by victims, families, and responders. His long-standing professional partnership and friendship with Nick have been forged through years of shared service and mutual trust.

Public safety is not just Dwayne’s profession—it is his family’s calling. His wife serves as both a paramedic and 911 dispatcher, and his stepson is a State Trooper. Together, their household represents every phase of emergency response, from the first call for help to roadside care and follow-up investigation.

As Vice President, Dwayne reinforces the operational and outreach efforts of the foundation, ensuring its message resonates with both first responders and the community. His involvement reflects a commitment to proactive education and prevention rooted in real-world experience.

Secretary | Amber Turner

Amber Turner serves as Board Secretary for Bobby’s Crash Foundation, providing organizational structure and administrative leadership to support the foundation’s work. In her professional career, she is a Logistics Manager for Clarios, LLC, where she oversees transportation operations, manages freight strategy, and improves efficiency across complex supply networks.

Her operational mindset brings discipline and coordination to the foundation’s internal processes. As Secretary, Amber maintains official records, ensures meeting accuracy, and supports transparent governance practices that strengthen the organization’s credibility.

A Fulton native, Amber returned home during the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly reengaged in community service through her church, the Fulton Library Board, and the Dutch Days Committee. Her longstanding friendship with Nick and his family made supporting the foundation a deeply personal decision.

Amber believes that strong communities are built through involvement and accountability. By helping the foundation operate efficiently and professionally, she plays a vital role in turning its mission into sustainable action.

Treasurer | Troy Hartman

Troy Hartman serves as Treasurer of Bobby’s Crash Foundation, providing financial leadership and accountability to support the organization’s mission. With a professional background in financial services and tax preparation, Troy brings extensive experience in compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. His career centers on helping individuals and businesses navigate complex financial matters with clarity and integrity.

As Treasurer, Troy oversees the foundation’s fiscal management, ensuring responsible stewardship of donor contributions and long-term financial sustainability. His disciplined, detail-oriented approach helps position the organization for continued growth while maintaining transparency and trust.

A husband and father of two young children, Troy was deeply impacted when he learned of the crash. His longstanding friendship with Nick and the Neblung family quickly turned into a commitment to stand beside them in building something meaningful from tragedy. For Troy, serving on the board is both personal and purposeful.

While he jokes that he enjoys long walks on the beach, living far from the shoreline means he spends far more time driving than walking in the sand. That simple reality reinforces a serious belief: safe driving is not a suggestion, it is a responsibility. Troy supports the foundation with the conviction that thoughtful decisions, whether financial or behind the wheel, have lasting consequences.
